Class Membership Meeting Sparks Active Discussion and Excitement
A General Membership Meeting of the J/35 Class Association was held in Muskegon MI on Thursday August 21, 2014. Twelve owners and over 25 people were in attendance including the Class Secretary/ Treasurer, two members of the technical committee, a brand new owner, and the long time owner of hull #1. A total of 8 past North American Championships were represented in the room. Class President Larry Taunt opened with a financial report and a review of current membership followed by a State of the class report. Many ideas were discussed and several proposals were made that will be formalized and presented to the membership for vote. An exciting but challenging proposal to reduce the cost of the sail inventory was discussed at length and a committee is being formed to explore the possibilities. Problems that the Class faces were discussed in depth including a major issue that Hall Spars may no longer produce J35 mast. Please follow the link below to a recording of the meeting if you were not able to attend or participate in the Live Webinar. I would appreciate hearing feedback from the owners. Also if you wish to participate in the upcoming votes you must be a class member! Membership is $75 per year and we are running special right now for $125 for 2014 & 2015. Please print out the form and mail in your Class Membership today!
