I want to stop the leaking portlights in my boat. I've emailed multiple times the guy who advertised that he has the gaskets for the portlights, but I have not gone any response. I have contacted Bomar, but the gaket material is no longer available, and, curiously they said they do not have a replacement part for the 4 larger portlights. The cutout for the old 3524 portlight is 7 1/2" X 26 1/2" and they do not have a model for a cutout that large. So what has anyone else done? The gasket on most of the portlights is rotten and I would like to either redo the gasket but if I have to replace the portlights, what model could I use?

I'm the guy who visited Bomar and had new replacement hatches built- all 8 of them. I spoke to Paul Hazen there. It's been 3 years so I don't know if he's still with. My ports are still working and lookin great. Bomar is now Pompanette.

Bomar does make replacement opening ports, at least they did a couple years ago, though they are not in the on-line catalog. I bought 2 main cabin ports from them and received a 50% discount as they were for replacement and not new installation. The model #'s and 50% off cost $'s below were provided by another J/35 owner.
Bomar Portholes
Main Cabin N3524 7.5 x 26.5 $286.50 ea.
Head N3414 6.5 x 16 199.50 ea.
Quarter berth N3714 9.5 x 14 217.50 ea.

I have a whole box of gasket material that I bought. It seems to work well, it still compressses a bit but I haven't have to adjust the dogs in a while. I can send you enough for your windows. Let me know we can work out nominal costs for shipping.
BTW, the gasket seal against the frame in the boat is not the only problem. The other problem is the glass to frame seal. This was solved with silicon seal.

Where did you buy the gasket material? Is it a standard item somewhere? I'd be nice to have a ongoing supply of the stuff avalible.
