J/35 Lake Ontario Championship - Youngstown Levels Regatta July 28th & 29th, 2002 The 2002 Youngstown
Level Regatta saw 16 J/35's on
the start line and lots of exciting action, especially
at the roundings. Saturday was typical Youngstown light air, with
an unhealthy dose of fog delaying the starts by over
3 hours and resulting in only 1 race sailed.
On Sunday it was blowing the proverbial dog off the
chain, with wind speeds as high as 28 knots at the first
start. Confidence was gained by all and a second race
was sailed with some very close manoeuvring to keep
the excitement level high. Congratulations to Paul Casola and the crew
of
Stryder , 1st, Cliff Sertl of Das Blau Max, 2nd and Winston Beckett
of Crime Scene, 3rd.
